It later inspired the movie of the same name released in January, some five years ago. The saga of mathematicians Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson first inspired Black writer and inspirational speaker Margot Lee Shetterly to write her book Hidden Figures. Some sixty years ago three women - all Black - made history, powering NASA’s world-leading work.
